I am 58 years old, I am French and I was diagnosed as bipolar (type 1) at the age of 18. I live in Portugal with Jacqueline, who I met 35 years ago, and with whom I am twice married, once divorced, the ramifications of bipolarity. Our life close to nature makes me fully happy, because it is anchored in reality while part of the dream I sorely needed to make happen. But the road to get there was long.
After thirty years of enduring, facing and finally overcoming the many trials that I and my entourage were confronted with, I equipped myself with the necessary tools to keep control of it. But also to make the best of this extraordinary disorder. My last episode was twenty years ago, a crisis after which I really questioned myself, stabilised and then rebuilt. What I consider to be a victory over myself was only possible thanks to the support and involvement of my family, friends and colleagues, some of whom have become my 'gatekeepers'.
On the strength of this individual and collective success, I decided to turn to coaching bipolar people who want to find or rediscover a stable existence that does not exclude ambition… or following a dream. And to facilitate a lasting improvement of a difficult situation, I coach partners, families and friends.
